Mob materials drop from trash enemies in Calamity runs. Boss materials drop from final bosses. Amounts scale with dungeon tier — Neon District requires thousands of mob materials for a full Secret set.
Enable Material Boosts (+50%) during events. Exchange duplicate materials 2:1 at the Exchange NPC within the same dungeon pool.
Mob vs boss materials
Mob materials drop from trash enemies during Calamity runs. Boss materials drop from final boss kill. Both required for Secret armor craft — ratio varies by piece (helmet vs chest vs legs).
Drop amounts scale with dungeon tier — Neon District and First Sanctuary require thousands of mob materials for full Secret set. Lower tier dungeons cheaper but obsolete once outleveled.
Hardcore modifier adds +50% material drops when clear time reasonable — skip Hardcore if run doubles in length.
Exchange and boost stacking
Exchange NPC converts same-dungeon materials 2:1 — trade excess mob materials for scarce boss materials within one dungeon pool only. Cross-dungeon exchange not supported.
Material Boost events (+50%) stack with Calamity and Hardcore. Schedule craft sessions during triple-stack windows announced on Discord discord.gg/fabledlegacy.
Enable Calamity from Ragnarök's Descent upward — Normal and Expert do not drop Secret crafting materials.
Per-piece planning
Craft helmet first to validate material flow and Pot inheritance. Chest second for health pool. Legs last — often lowest material cost but same Pot stakes.
Ring materials come from Elemental Raid pipeline separately — not mob/boss drops from mainline.
